Buick Taps Bruce Hornsby For Rainier Theme
DETROIT - Following the unparalleled on-line success of Tiger Trap, Buick is offering songs by quintessential American composer Bruce Hornsby on Buick.com to draw attention to a brand new SUV - the 2004 Buick Rainier. The featured track is the brand new "King of the Cascades (Song H)," an original instrumental piece composed for Buick as the Official Rainier Theme.
According to Buick advertising manager Jill Cooley, Buick identified with Hornsby's personal response to the natural beauty that Mt. Rainier represents. "Bruce Hornsby's composition represents the highest level of integrity and craftsmanship," said Cooley. "This music is fresh and innovative, while remaining classic and timeless, much like the Buick Rainier."
In addition to "King of the Cascades (Song H)," three other songs -- all written and performed by Hornsby -- are available both on Buick.com and the CD/DVD, including "The Chill," "Sneaking Up on Boo Radley" and "The Way It Is" (Live Version).
In addition to the current web content, which includes behind-the-scenes footage (www.buick.com/inspiration), CD/DVDs are being mailed to customers who have asked for more information on Rainier.
Buick's direct marketing agency, MRM Partners Worldwide, coordinated the effort with Hornsby.
Since releasing his triple-platinum Grammy-winning debut album in 1986, Bruce Hornsby has continued to please fans and gain critical acclaim for both the originality and stylistic diversity of his music. Equally adept at styles ranging from pop to soul to improvisational jazz, Hornsby is a consummate musician whose graceful compositions bear the mark of an American original and true craftsman.
