BUICK SIGNS GOGEL AND BERGANIO FOR 2003

DETROIT -Buick has signed Matt Gogel and David Berganio Jr. to new one-year sponsorship agreement's for the 2003 season. Both players will wear a Buick hat at all PGA Tour events and make appearances on behalf of the company.

"We expect Matt and David to take their game up to another level in 2003," said Larry Peck, golf marketing manager for Buick. "They are quality individuals who have done a great job representing Buick. We think they both have a bright future on the PGA Tour."

Gogel, 32, is in his third year as a Buick touring professional. He earned his first PGA Tour victory (AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am) in 2002 and went over the million dollar mark in yearly earnings for the first time. In 2001, he earned $729,783 while recording four top-10 finishes and seven top-25 finishes.

Berganio, 34, got off to a fast start in 2002 with a second place finish at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. He earned $573,151 for the year and went over the million dollar mark in career earnings ($1,509,832). In 2001, Berganio recorded six top-25 finishes, including four top-10's. He is now in his seventh year as a Buick touring pro.

Now in its fifth decade of PGA Tour sponsorship, Buick is title-sponsor of three PGA Tour events: The Buick Invitational (February 10-16), Torrey Pines Golf Course, La Jolla, Calif.; the Buick Classic (June 16-22), Westchester Country Club, Harrison, N.Y.; and the Buick Open (July 28-Aug. 3), Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club, Grand Blanc, Mich.

The official car of the PGA Tour since 1984, Buick has a marketing partnership with Tiger Woods and sponsorship agreements with golf instructor Butch Harmon and PGA Tour professionals Matt Gogel and David Berganio Jr. In 2002, Buick became the official car of the PGA of America and assumed title-sponsorship of the Buick Scramble, the world's largest amateur golf tournament with approximately 100,000 participants annually. Through its PGA Tour events, which are each televised nationally, Buick has donated more than $26 million to local charities since 1982.
